Sherlock Foams started as one person on a market stall in Stockport over 35 years ago. As a young man of 19 Mike our managing director sold foam to the public on market days in and around the Stockport area. One Saturday afternoon In April 1981 a fire broke out on his stall. This event forced him to move into a shop to sell the foam from which in turn gave room for expansion.

Some years later a small factory unit became available. In 1988 the business had out grown the space and was moved to a larger factory unit and became a limited company trading as Sherlock Foams Ltd.

Since then we have grown ever bigger and have a large factory employing 16 members of staff.

The company quickly went from selling furnishing foam to the public to serving many other companies with packaging foam and sewing services. These include swabs and pharmaceutical foam to the Health Service, packaging foam, case inserts, novelty bath sponges, upholstery and PVC sheets and covers to name but a few.

We offer a bespoke service so we can make one off items to suit personal requirements, such as wedges, Boat cushions, Caravan cushions, PVC and Acrylic boat covers etc. etc. with a fast, friendly competitive service, a very high standard and quality workmanship at all times.
